Todd Matsumoto (NL)

Todd Matsumuto’s projects are a combination of theory and practice, that use actual events as a base starting point for investigation. These events range from the Abu Ghraib prison scandal to the Crooswijk redevelopment process currently taking place in Rotterdam. The realization of these projects are developed through using programming languages, such as Perl, MySQL and web browsers, as tools for the analysis of text media collected from printed media about the event. The work indicates the influence that the media has on the public, the event, and its influence on the media apparatus itself, thereby illustrating media as both an instrument of analysis and influence while at the same time shaping our environments.
