Angelica Schmitt (D)

Angelica D. Schmitt studied Art History, Audio Visual Media and Philosophy. She is a researcher, writer and theorist on contemporary media art practices. Her focus is to question if interaction can be seen as an aesthetical quality which is adressing the adaptation of traditional art theory to digital conditions. She has been collaborating with Two Suns Media Development in Berlin for whom she authored the development of processing software for intelligent environments. In the most recent years she was involved in serveral media art projects and festivals in China and Europe. Currently she's working on an interactive multi-user art project. In this project the relationship between a media-coded reality and complex epistemological models of perception are translated into the form of a stocktaking research, and an extrapolation of western civilization models in global and technological contexts.
