The DIY Networks workshop is oriented towards electronic artists with a special interest in the possibilities of approaching technologies beyond the paradigm of control. The focus will be on sustainable, customised, weareable, networked instruments and sound ecologies.

Notions of control versus influence will be discussed in relation to technology, in a context where unknown histories of technology will be re-created. The work of philosophers such as Lyotard and Guattari will be introduced during four days of experimentation with sound, sensor technology and networks. Participants will work in collaboration with an exciting mix of musicians and DIY practitioners.

The workshop is theoretically complemented by the Critical Ecosystems seminar on Thursday 12 from 10:00 to 13:00hrs.
